Stamp duty is based on the house purchase price. Below are the stamp duty rates based on the purchase price.
For example, if you want to buy a new house for RM300,000:
The stamp duty payment for the first RM100,000 will amount to (100,000 * 1%) = RM1,000.
The stamp duty payment for the remaining amount ((300,000 – 100,001) * 2%) = RM4,000.
